Youth Hunting Program

The Metamora Park District Youth Hunting Program helps protect the natural beauty and wildlife habitats of Black Partridge Park while teaching young hunters about conservation and responsible hunting.

As the deer population has grown, it has impacted native plants, wildlife habitat, and crops planted to support local wildlife. Responsible deer management helps maintain a healthy balance within the park.

With guidance from experienced adult mentors, youth participants learn about safety, ethical hunting, respect for wildlife, and following all IDNR regulations. The program also encourages the next generation to become responsible stewards of our parks and natural resources.
