The Metamora Park District is governed by a dedicated, volunteer, elected Board of Trustees. The Board is responsible for ensuring that the community's recreational needs are met, supporting the development and maintenance of parks, facilities, and programs. Trustees collaborate closely with Metamora Park District staff and local community partners to help shape the future of the Park District
The Metamora Park District is governed by five trustees, each elected to serve a four-year term. These trustees are elected by residents from the voting district to represent the interests and needs of the Metamora community. The Park Board President is elected at large and also serves a four-year term, playing a pivotal role in leading board meetings and guiding key decisions.
The Metamora Park District Board holds regular meetings to discuss policies, budgets, community feedback, and upcoming park improvements. These meetings are open to the public, and all Metamora residents are encouraged to attend and participate. The Board meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM, and meetings are typically held at the Village Hall, located at 102 N. Davenport, Metamora, IL 61548. Public comments are welcome during meetings, providing an opportunity for residents to voice their opinions, ask questions, and share feedback regarding Park District projects.

Dru is a newly appointed Commissioner for the Metamora Park District. Passionate about community engagement and outdoor recreation, Dru is excited to contribute to the growth and improvement of local parks and programs for residents of all ages.
Renee A. is a new Commissioner for the Metamora Park District. With a deep love for the outdoors and a commitment to community service, she is eager to help improve the parks and recreational spaces, ensuring they remain a wonderful place for her granddaughter and all families to enjoy.
The Metamora Park District will have four Trustee positions open. Each position is for a four-year term. Candidates shall be legal voters of and reside within the Metamora Park District taxing boundaries. (70 ILCS 1205/2-15) A person is not eligible to serve as park commissioner if that person is in arrears in the payment of a tax or other indebtedness due to the park district or has been convicted in any court located in the United States of any infamous crime, bribery, perjury, or other felony. (70 ILCS 1205/2-11)
The first day to circulate petitions is Tuesday, August 20, 2024.
The first day for filing petitions is November 12, 2024 beginning at 8:00 am. The last day to file is November 18, 2024, at 4:00 pm. Return required forms in person (by either the candidate or a representative) to: Metamora Park District, 214 E., Partridge, Metamora, IL.
Election Packets can be obtained at: Metamora Park District, 5407 E. Cambron Ave., Metamora, IL or requested digitally by emailing: director@metamoraparks.org.
Signature Requirements – Petitions must be signed by not less than 2% of the number of ballots cast at the last election for trustee in the district, but in no case by less than 25. Number of signatures required for the 2025 election is 25.

Her dedication to ensuring the financial health of the Park District helps maintain resources for parks, programs, and community development.
